Teedy’s Sweet Potato Pies originated and were made over 100 years ago in a shack in Haynesville, Alabama, by Celia Riggs Surles. Her daughter, my mother, Juliette Surles Jones, moved from her home in Haynesville to Chicago and continued to bake these delicious pies for all of her siblings in the North. Today I (Teedy) have been given the honor of being the Gatekeeper of my family’s uncompromising recipes. We call it “The North meets the South”. Teedy’s is all about family, memories, and quality taste. We want to change the way consumers eat and think about sweet potato pies, peach cobbler, and Tea Cakes. No need to wait; enjoy the flavors of the holidays all year round and let us show you how to eat “Southern Good”. Passed down through generations from Celia to Juliette and now Teedy, we promise to make a dessert that would make your grandma proud!
